DAY 3: FAVORITE ERA. As far as fashion goes, I am a huge fan for the 1940's era. Don't get me wrong, I can find something to wear for any decade. I used to volunteer at the history museum during their 1940's Weekend in Cincinnati. I've been photographed with the Memphis Belle, (the one from the movie...the real one is coming back there though!) I graciously welcomed WWII vets home from their trips to D.C. The make due and make mend vibe from that era is something that has always stuck with me. If something is broken...fix it! Hole in a dress...patch it. Negative attitude...change it. I love how people were actually physically giving every day their all! 1940's fashion makes me feel feminine yet structured. Nipped waists and tiny details are my favorite. I would say that the vast majority of my clothing is now 40's. Such amazing craftsmanship. The 50's make me feel like a cupcake...sometimes that's fine...but don't you dare take my picture in a fake kitchen...I just can't! The 60's can...
