YEAR IN REVIEW: In May, several flyovers were announced in North Carolina to show support for healthcare workers fighting the ongoing pandemic. UNC Hospitals was scheduled to receive a flyover from a flight team around sunset. There had actually been a different flyover a few days prior at UNC Hospitals and I positioned myself differently so I wouldn't get the same shot twice. The photos I got from the flyover were nothing special. I thought I could use the large windows on the outside of the hospitals to get some cool reflections, but it didn't work out. Instead, I saw a group of nurses who had ventured outside to watch the flyover and I approached them to ask if I could take their portraits. They were extremely nice and the portraits turned out great.
