We aren't taught about Canadian slavery in school. Our museums don't have exhibits remembering this horrific history. Politicians and media don't talk about it. This is what whitewashing history looks like. We also don't learn about Canada's civil rights movement either. Black and Indigenous people resisted slavery, discrimination and racist laws throughout Canadian history.
