Sarah Harper, Communication & Leadership junior and #firstgen student said she found herself by coming to utaustintx. “I think the reason I found myself is because I could finally be who I wanted to be. In a small town you have to be what everyone expects you to be. Here, it’s very encouraged to become whoever you are,” she said. Her advice to #firstgenlonghorns students: "Take advantage of your resources, find your community, find who you are -- and completely own that."
