American jazz trumpeter, singer, and bandleader Hot Lips Page was born #OTD—January 27—in 1908. He made his Carnegie Hall debut with pianist Fats Waller in 1942 (pictured here), and went on to perform at the Hall an additional four times in 1944 with Eddie Condon, Count Basie, Pee Wee Russell, and more.
