Happy Carnegie Hall Debut Day to conductor and pianist DBarenboim, who first performed at the Hall on this day—January 20—in 1957. Barenboim made his debut at age 14 with Leopold Stokowski and the Symphony of the Air, performing Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 1. He has since returned more than 150 times in solo and collaborative performances.
