Today we celebrate soprano Jessye Norman’s solo recital debut at Carnegie Hall, which took place #OTD in 1980, featuring works by Beethoven, Berg, Brahms, and Wolf with pianist Phillip Moll.
From 1974 until 2015, Norman performed at Carnegie Hall more than 50 times in solo and collaborative performances, and served as an Artist Trustee from 2006 until her death in 2019. 📷: Courtesy of the #CHRoseArchives
