Troubled by the onslaught of killings of unarmed black men and after finding Shirin Barghi’s #lastwords project, composer Joel Thompson wrote Seven Last Words of the Unarmed, a multi-movement work performed by the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra (sphinxorg) and University of Michigan Men's Glee Club (ummgc), conducted by Eugene Rogers (ecrogersumich).
