Gustav Mahler stands on the sidewalk in front of the Hotel Savoy at 59th Street and 5th Avenue in 1910. Mahler was the music director of the New York Philharmonic from 1909–1911 and lived in hotels while he was in NYC during the concert season, performing with the orchestra at Carnegie Hall.
