#BehindTheShot with #CanonExplorerOfLight peter_hurley: "I was elated when I got the call from Sailing World Magazine asking me to photograph Bruce Kirby, the designer of the Laser. You see, I’ve been sailing a Laser since I was 10 years old and trained for 2 Olympic Games in the boat. The sailing lead into modeling, which caused me to pick up a camera, so the fact that this man built this particular boat changed the trajectory of my life forever. Obviously, I jumped at the chance to get Bruce, who just celebrated his 90th birthday in front of my camera. I knew he has this handsome salty dog look of the sea type thing going on and I envisioned shooting him on a black background in black and white. I had my EOS R ready for the challenge and got to his home looking for a clean wall of some sort that I could darken up a bunch.
