Developing a scent is a test of confidence. When I partnered w/ scenthusiasm_ltd in 2015 to develop our first smell, Underhill — in the form of a solid cologne — I was hesitant to take it to market. I know what I like and I know there isn’t anything out there like it — but to put it in the world for others to experience is a challenge because smells are such an intimate thing. I remember when I first met Sarah at a trade show in LA — she captured my imagination of what s smell could do...but she also made me realize that the smells we like...for the most part are objective. For some, the smell of roses may fondly remind them of walking in their garden while others may remember its potency as their unfriendly grandmother doused her wrists and arms with it. Taking my idea of what smells good was new territory for me and I wanted to take baby steps to realize its value. — 5 years later and with thousands of orders behind us between solid colognes, roll-ons, deodorant, sanitizer, and soap...
