I’ve had a chance to cover nine or 10 #NBA #AllStar Weekends in my career, between my years with the @suns and my work for @slam and @hoopmag. But my favorite was in 2015, when we traveled with the #Suns, who had three players on the West roster (@stevenash, @matrix31 & @amareisreal), and won three of the four contests on #AllStarSaturday Night (3pt, Skills, 2-Ball). We were the first team in the league to send a digital staff to document their players’ All-Star adventures. So when we followed the West roster from its practice onto a freight elevator and then into its locker room, everyone must have assumed we were a part of the NBA Entertainment crew. It was pretty cool watching and shooting photos / video of our guys interacting with Kobe, KG, Duncan, Dirk and T-Mac, who were all playing the new PlayStation Portable, which Sony reps had brought them to tryout.
