Testing, testing, testing 🎤
Engineers at NASA’s Stennis Space Center are testing the redesigned RS-25 engines to be used on Space Launch System (SLS) rockets for future missions to the Moon, starting with Artemis V.
The most recent test on March 8 is the third hot fire test of the year and the third since teams upgraded a nozzle on the RS-25 engine. Conducted by NASA and lead SLS engines contractor Aerojet Rocketdyne, certifying the engines are key toward establishing a long-term presence on the Moon.
