An important piece of training hardware that will help establish humanity’s long-term presence around the Moon was delivered to NASAJohnson. The Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) mockup will help train future #Artemis astronauts to live aboard Gateway, NASA’s future lunar orbiting space station. Orbiting the Moon close to 250,000 miles (402,000 km) from the safety of Earth, astronauts will live in HALO, where they will eat, sleep, exercise, conduct science experiments, and prepare for lunar surface missions. Gateway will orbit the Moon in a near-rectilinear halo orbit, allowing communication with Earth-bound teams.
