POV: You’re a rocket. At 1:47 am EST (6:47 UTC) on November 16, NASA’s Orion spacecraft launched aboard the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket from historic Launch Complex 39B at NASAKennedy Space Center. The launch officially began the #Artemis I mission. This footage was captured from a camera mounted on Orion’s crew module adapter. The Orion spacecraft is currently headed toward a distant retrograde orbit around the Moon. The orbit is “distant” in the sense that it’s at a high altitude from the surface of the Moon, and it’s “retrograde” because Orion will travel around the Moon opposite the direction the Moon travels around Earth.
