The Moon is calling 🌕
A total lunar eclipse is seen in the sky above NASAKennedy Space Center in Florida on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. As the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft sit at Launch Pad 39B ready to embark on the
#Artemis I mission, the Moon reminds us of our upcoming destination.
Image Descriptions:
1. The full Moon appears against the dark sky. The top of the Moon is copper-colored, fading into a bright white color near the base.
2. The Moon is seen above the SLS rocket with the Orion spacecraft aboard atop a mobile launcher at Launch Pad 39B.
3. The rocket appears as a bright white color against the night sky. The Moon appears as a faint orange orb in the top left part of the image.
This composite made from ten images shows the progression of the Moon during a total lunar eclipse above the Vehicle Assembly Building. Visible trailing the Moon in this composite is Mars.
