Teams are preparing for a hot fire test of a full-size test solid rocket booster motor in July in support of future Space Launch System (SLS) flights during #Artemis missions.⁣ ⁣ The 120-second Flight Support Booster-2 (FSB-2) will test the electronic thrust vector control system that will replace the current hydrazine-powered system, currently scheduled to be implemented on the ninth SLS flight. The static firing will also test the Artemis III igniters and will evaluate several new components and materials incorporated into the SLS five-segment motor design.
