Our constant companion 💙
The waning gibbous Moon is pictured here above the Earth's horizon as the International Space Station (ISS) orbited 272 miles (about 437 kilometers) above the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of southern Argentina on Jan. 21, 2022.
More than 105 robotic spacecraft have been launched to explore the Moon. The Moon is the only celestial body beyond Earth – so far – visited by human beings.
#Artemis I is the first in a series of increasingly complex missions, paving the way for lunar surface missions and future missions to send astronauts to Mars.
