A lunar home away from home 🌑 A vital component of #Artemis, the Gateway outpost orbiting the Moon will set the stage for a long-term human presence on the lunar surface. The lunar outpost will pave the way for scientific investigations and deep space expeditions to places like Mars. While visiting the Gateway, astronauts will live and conduct research in the Habitation and Logistics Outpost, or HALO. These pressurized living quarters will provide command and control systems for the lunar outpost. The HALO will also contain docking ports for visiting spacecraft, such as lunar landers, logistics resupply craft, and NASA’s Orion spacecraft, seen on approach in this illustration.
