Earlier today, NASA’s Ingenuity #MarsHelicopter became the first aircraft in history to make a powered, controlled flight on another planet. In this video captured by the Mastcam-Z imager aboard the Perseverance Mars rover, Ingenuity climbs to an altitude of 10 feet (3 meters), hovering for 30 seconds. Data from both Ingenuity and #Artemis missions will help prepare us for human missions to the Red Planet. Video credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech/ASU/MSSS #nasa #space #exploration
