Up for a challenge, sky gazers? 🌟
You’ve probably seen a Super Moon… but have you seen a Super Pink Moon? The Super Pink Moon is a perigee moon, meaning it is closer to Earth, and gets its name not from the color, but because this super moon sometimes corresponded with early springtime blooms of pink flowered moss.
The Super Pink Moon will occur today at moonrise and tomorrow at moonset. You can view the Super Pink Moon from home if you have an east-facing window or balcony that’s second floor or higher. Check your local moonrise and moonset times to catch a glimpse of the closest super moon this year.
Post your best Super Pink Moon photo in your IG story, tag us explorenasa, and share your beautiful image using
#superpinkmoon. We'll share a few of your photos on our Stories feed tomorrow morning at moonset. 🌝
