Encapsulated in its payload fairing, NASA's Parker Solar Probe was transported past the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center, on Monday, July 30, 2018. The spacecraft was on its way to Space Launch Complex 37 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station to be mated atop a United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy rocket. The mission will perform the closest-ever observations of a star when it travels through the Sun's atmosphere, called the corona. The probe will rely on measurements and imaging to revolutionize our understanding of the corona and the Sun-Earth connection. Launch is targeted for this Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 3:33 a.m. ET. Tune into NASA TV for live coverage of the launch! Credit: NASA #nasa #parkersolarprobe #touchthesun #nasalaunchservices #exploration #science #solarsystem #spacecoast #launch
