Check out NASA's Super Guppy aircraft in flight last summer! The Guppy -- a plane large enough to carry cargo weighing more than 26 tons -- transported a structural test article of the Orion Stage Adapter (OSA) for NASA’s Space Launch System. The OSA connects NASA's Orion spacecraft to the Interim Cryogenic Propulsion System, which will give the spacecraft its big, in-space boost to fly around the moon in its first integrated flight with SLS. This year we can look forward to watching the Guppy in flight again as it transports the OSA to NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, marking further progress for NASA's Deep Space Exploration Systems.
