Even when bathed in the light of the distant sun, temperatures rarely top a -300 degrees Fahrenheit. This speculative painting depicts a conical mound where gas, warmed by tidal pressures caused by its moon, Charon, rises to the surface contributing to a thin atmosphere and haze that hugs the ground.
