A stunning photo from Wallops Flight Facility in Wallops Island, Virginia last month showing the Brant IX suborbital sounding rocket launching on Wednesday October 7, 2015. The primary purpose of the flight was to test the performance of the second-stage Black Brant motor. Preliminary indications are that the motor performed as planned.
