Let's get ready to RUMBLE!! Scheduled for this Thursday, August 13, is a test fire of the mighty RS-25 engine at John C. Stennis Space Center in #Mississippi. Four RS-25 engines will power the core stage of NASA’s new Space Launch System (SLS), the rocket that will launch astronauts on future missions to an asteroid and Mars. This week's test will verify that the RS-25 developmental engine is performing as needed. In that spirit, we’ll be posting to our gallery all things Space Launch System (SLS), particularly as it relates to the RS-25 engine—which, along with two solid core rocket boosters will fire up the SLS rocket and #Orion spacecraft on their first mission into deep space launching from a modernized Kennedy Spaceport at Cape Canaveral.
