Did you know that the Ellensburg Rodeo was founded in 1923 by ranchers, farmers, Indians, and community-minded citizens?! . They were motivated not only by a desire to celebrate a vanishing frontier way of life, but also by a desire to promote their community and generate commerce. . From their efforts, Washington State’s World Famous Ellensburg Rodeo was born. . Here at Ellensburg Rodeo we are all about traditions. Still to this day, our rodeo is a VOLUNTEER RUN organization. We have an incredible group of people that give hundreds of hours to keep this tradition alive year after year. .
