This Tuesday morning in Bartels Hall, stationed at sewing machines on tables spaced apart to observe safe social distancing guidelines, dozens of community volunteers, including cornellmsoccer associate head coach Drew Hutchins, began a coordinated sewing effort to produce surgical masks for Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ The sewing capacity at Bartels could eventually increase to 60 tables and nearly 1,000 masks produced per day in support of not only Cayuga Medical Center, but our entire Ithaca community including nursing homes, physicians’ offices, and other areas where masks are needed. . . #Cornell #CornellUniversity #CornellSCL #WeAreSCL
