auburnsoftball debuted new white jerseys with teal accents for Saturday night's matchup against #6 LSU. In honor of All for Alex, the SEC's initiative to honor Alex Wilcox and raise awareness for ovarian cancer, the conference teams sport teal in their uniforms in some fashion. Auburn players had previously worn teal ribbons in their hair. Other programs have produced specially designed uniforms for the annual event. Alex Wilcox played softball at Mississippi State before being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2016. Wilcox died in 2018 at the age of 18. Wilcox was beloved in the softball community, having deep ties to many players on each SEC team. This is the first time that Auburn Softball has worn a uniquely designed jersey for a special cause or occasion. The Tigers have previously worn pink t-shirts for breast cancer awareness events.
