The ability to generate force eccentrically is a differentiator for athletes. It both reduces the likelihood for injury and increases performance. Most traditional loading methods don’t provide an adequate training stimulus to address this physical quality. This is especially true in more advanced athletes who have a high baseline of concentric strength. This is largely due to the fact that traditional methods are limited by how much force can be produced concentrically and our ability to produce force eccentrically is significantly higher than it is concetrically. For this reason, we incorporate specialized exercises and equipment to ensure that we reach stimulus threshold for eccentric force generating capacity.
