Many coaches and parents make the short sighted mistake of early sport specialization for their younger athletes without a basic athletic development foundation. Many believe the myth that resistance training for youth is bad and will “stunt growth.” Neither is correct. .
Youth developmental athletes need to master basic motor patterns in the 6 basic movements and should begin to incorporate resistance training as a part of their long term athletic development pathway. .
Our Scholastic Prep does just that. In each session, the young athletes perform a fun and engaging active-dynamic warmup, some form of varied and non-specific athletic skill (like crawling, tumbling, kicking, catching or throwing), develop COD and speed, and finish with age appropriate resistance training using a system that balances load and mastery of the basic movement patterns (squat, lunge, hinge, press, pull, brace). . ***Não faça crianças especialistas em esportes.
