“The pigeon pose is a great stretch for the external rotators of the hip, but many people lack enough mobility to sit in the stretch properly. Instead of having a "closed" knee position and basically sitting on the shin, elevate the hips with something like a yoga block to allow an "open" knee and more external rotation.”
