Welcome to ๐ช๐๐ฐ๐ต๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ, an area founded by Marmaduke Matthews, a landscape painter who purchased land here in the 1870s. With the hope of establishing an artist colony in Wychwood, Marmaduke built the first house in the community in 1874. Then, in 1891, he and his friend Alexander bought the land that abutted their estates and registered a subdivision plan for the Wychwood Park neighbourhood. ๐จโ๐จ
This subdivision runs from St. Clair Avenue to the north up until Dupont Street to the south, making it within walking distance to the Wychwood Public Library, the Hillcrest Community Centre, and the well-known Taddle Creek pond. In fact, the entire neighbourhood itself was designated as an Ontario Heritage Conservation district in 1985!
The median listing price for homes in Wychwood Park starts at $1,600,000, with a sold price of $1,420,000. This district consists of detached and semi-detached homes and condos, which sell in approximately 17 median days while on the market.
