ASUC Senator Andy Liu shared a post on Instagram on Saturday in partnership with The Period Project at UC Berkeley, asking students to fill out a survey on their access to menstrual products on campus.
The post offered incentives for filling out the survey — expanding menstrual equity on campus and a chance to win a $20 Caffe Strada gift card.
According to Liu, the survey was kickstarted due to the lack of institutional implementation of free menstrual products access on campus. Liu alleged the ASUC’s Menstrual Equity Commission, or MEC, has done next to nothing for its namesake.
