From student to instructor, Gabriel Maestas has truly prospered at Emily Griffith. Looking for his next step in life, Maestas enrolled in our barbering program in 2014. “I decided on Emily Griffith because I knew it had been a staple in the Denver community for decades. The barber program was not only the most affordable in the Denver Metro area, but it was also the shortest as far as completion time goes” he shares. Maestas completed his training in 2015 and 8 months ago was brought on as an evening Level II barbering instructor. Mentors Shay Aguilar, AJ Gallegos, and Dane Vickers were a large part of the reason for him becoming an instructor for the college. “Shay and Dane are dear friends and always spoke so highly of EGTC, the platform it creates for all, and the ability to teach the new wave of barbers” he exclaims. “I truly love the opportunities the college creates for the community.
