Taking English classes and working full-time was so exhausting for Jackie Ruiz she had begun to think her dream of speaking English would never come true. When she moved to Colorado in 2018, Jackie knew she would have to speak English to continue both her education and her profession. She found Emily Griffith online and, impressed with its long tradition of serving immigrants, she enrolled. “I tried English in other places, but Emily Griffith has the strongest program and is the most affordable,” according to Jackie. Heather Colwell, ELA Student Navigator, talked to Jackie's class about the CAREERS program and invited Jackie to join.
