Golden Diner has one of New York’s most underrated burgers. Chef Sam Yoo comes equipped with fine dining experience from some of the world’s best restaurants... And yet, his contribution to the scene is an eatery that’s focused on serving diner classics at a high level. The way Sam has made great-tasting and well-thought out food accessible for the masses, is by respecting the details that others might overlook. The bun on the burger is specially made for him at a local Chinatown bakery, and laced with scallion. The syrup on the pancakes has a touch of soy sauce, and another special ingredient we can’t spoil, to add vibrancy and sheen. And the avocado toast has ample secrets: lime-pickled onion, galangal, lemongrass, thai basil and more.
