Karen Ronney fondly recalls her younger days in the San Fernando Valley when the legendary Jim Buck would bring his USC women’s tennis team to join local tennis enthusiasts, teaching summer clinics. Those female coaches became her role models, and she wanted to be just like them, but she noticed a lack of female representation in the coaching world. That's why the USTA Southern California section is hosting the Women & Girls Who Ace Summit and Coaching Awards to empower young female players and encourage more female leadership in tennis.
