Introducing our February Tournament Director of the Month, Mark McCampbell. If you have played tennis in Ventura County in the last 25 years you know Mark McCampbell. He grew up playing tennis throughout the local area with a very active tennis family. Mark learned at an early age how to run tennis tournaments. His father, Bob McCampbell, ran local tournaments and had a pro shop, while his brother John is still a popular tennis coach at the Malibu Racquet Club. Mark had a very successful competitive junior and college tennis career. He began his teaching career in Germany with the Vic Braden Academy in 1989 and returned to take over the operations of the Oxnard Tennis Center, where his father and brother had started 10 years prior. Over the last 25 years, Mark has coached thousands of students, from NCAA Division I Champions to current WTA and ATP touring professionals, while continuing to cultivate a grass-roots tennis program.
