Introducing our January Tournament Director of the Month, Aaron Yovan of Max Performance Tennis. Aaron grew up in Irvine, playing baseball, soccer, and tennis. Despite not coming from a family with a tennis background, he began playing with his dad at 6-7 years old and decided to stick with the sport at 12. Aaron played in local and national USTA tournaments, earning a national championship in both singles and doubles in the 16s and 14s divisions, respectively and became a top 10 nationally ranked player as a 16 year old. He went on to play college tennis at UCI and UCLA. After college, he played professionally and accomplished a lifelong goal of becoming a world-ranked tennis player by earning multiple ATP points. He always loved to teach and started teaching lessons in high school. He started his tennis program, Max Performance Tennis, in Irvine in 2008 and now runs it at Irvine Valley College.
