Mick Hubert, the "Voice of the Gators" since 1989, announced he will step away from the microphone after the weekend's baseball series between gatorsbb and South Carolina. Hubert has been on the call for countless Florida memories. He is the only broadcaster in history to call national championship wins for the same school in college football (3), men's basketball (2), and baseball (1). “I envisioned doing this until I was 80,” said the 68-year-old Hubert. “I get paid to call great games. I get great seats. Why not do it?” Hubert and his wife, Judi, will relocate to Sarasota after he calls his last game Saturday.
