Hihi I’ve been a little confused with the whole #blackouttuesday because there has been some miscommunication and conceptions. Hmm I tried to dive into Twitter to get a better understanding!this is what I got so far, please correct me if I’m wrong! #theshowmustbepaused was the original intention behind black out Tuesday, started by two black execs in the music industry to stop business as usual to take time to reflect, have conversation and take steps to support the black communities. A reminder that multi-billion dollar music industries profit heavily off black art and artists, and to see what actions can be taken to have some accountability. Some confusion sparked because of a misconception that people were meant to stay silent. It’s not about being silent. It’s about silencing any other voice that isn’t contributing to blm. But to keep reading and posting! Because silence is what upholds these systems in the first place. It’s also not just about posting a black pic for trends sake...
