With the 15th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, the Toronto Maple Leafs have selected Rodion Amirov. ———————— Projection: Top-Six Winger Playing Style: Playmaker ———————— Scouting Report: Amirov had a great season in MHL action, but wasn’t able to put up numbers when he was called up to the KHL due to a lack of opportunity. The first thing that pops out when you watch Amirov is his skating. He is incredibly elusive, and can maneuver around checks using his great edgework, along with the creativity in his hands. Amirov is also an excellent transitional player, who can carry the puck to open ice in all three-zones. His patience under pressure, and ability to out-wait opposition and make sneaky-passes is very good. He is a good player in tight, who has a nose for the net and scoring goals.
