Shaun Maswanganyi who later represented his home country of South Africa in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, anchored the 4x100m relay to at that moment a NCAA leading and 2nd in the world time of 38.39.⁠ My track career ended after a reoccurring injury my freshman year of college in 2018. Being a sprinter and anchoring the 4x100m and 4x400m. I remember the preparation and that feeling of crossing the finish line so I stood from the start of the day through the blazing sun for this one moment. I understood who was there and what they were capable of and I loved every minute of it.
