The “East Chant” or also known as the “Viking Chant” has been passed down to underclassmen band members for years. At the pep rally on April 11, senior Dylan Levitan passed down the tradition to Sophomore Dexter Stephens. “Around that time we were struggling as a school to bring unity between all the student support groups at home games,” Band Teacher Alex Toepfer said. “When the student section started doing the Viking chant with Syd and the big Bass Drum, combined with an arrangement of 7 nation army I wrote out for the band, it really clicked and quickly became a tradition, and I feel like it's helped create a really positive, unifying, and fun atmosphere for our home games.” #socialmediabybridgetconnelly
