I am honoured to announce my appointment as Director of Olympic Talent Development in China with an immediate mandate to accelerate the development of 140 national ice hockey players in China’s system.⁠ With the prestigious importance of hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics, historical success in speed skating and figure skating, hockey being the feature sport of the Winter Games, and a goal to inspire millions of children and their parents to enter the sport to help achieve fitness, health and happiness, showcasing excellence in hockey at the top level has the government’s highest focus.⁠ ⁠ I believe in the power of sport for life.
