Please join us in recognizing Norman Gogo on his 100th birthday. The St. Andrew’s Society salutes this veteran of the 48th Highlanders on reaching an incredible milestone.
Norman grew up in Toronto and joined the 48th Highlanders militia as a teenager. He went on to serve as a Signaller when World War Two broke out.
His 100th birthday on June 16th was celebrated by a drive-by parade. The parade was organized by the Penetanguishene Lions Club and Royal Canadian Legion in Midland.
Norman received birthday wishes from the Queen, Midland Mayor Strathearn, Acting Chief of Defense Staff, Lt. General Wayne Eyre, and CAF Chief Warrant Officer Gilles Gregoire. He also received a C-130 flyover from 424 Squadron of 8 Wing Trenton with local fire department driving up to celebrate.
Happy birthday, Norman! Thank-you for your service!
