Alexander Watson Hutton was a Scottish teacher who introduced soccer to Argentina. He is often referred to as "The Father of Argentine Football”. In 1893, he founded the Argentine Association Football League after previously developing the Buenos Aires English High School. He was a keen sportsman and believed that sports were of fundamental importance in education.
