I got to capture something truly historic last weekend — two Asian American D1 hoopers facing off against each other. uclawbb’s Natalie Chou (natalie_chou_) and pacificwbb’s Kaylin Randhawa (kaytime21). Natalie was actually the #2 ranked shooting guard in the entire country back in high school and her mother played on the Chinese national team. Kaylin also comes from a basketball-rich family — her brother played DII hoops and her sister is coaching at their HS alma mater. Women’s basketball is actually one of the few areas of mainstream American sports where we have seen a rise of Asian American presence over the past couple decades, and I do see a day where something like this can be a common occurrence! - Pranav Iyer . . . . . #asianamericanbasketball #indianamerican #indian #chineseamerican #chinese #asianamerican #asianballer #uclabasketball #uclawomensbasketball #pacificbasketball #nataliechou #kaylinrandhawa #basketball #ballislife #ballervisions #overtime #AMAZN #amaznhq
