WITH PERMISSION: A rare one in clinic this week. 24 year old man with a few months history or worsening lateral knee pain which gradually started to affect his flexion so felt he should get it assessed. No effusion. Night pain. Very atypical presentation and so after an MRI and a very efficient GP appointment he is now under the care of RNOH for a giant cell tumour. A rare , aggressive , usually benign tumour that occurs at the end of long bones. Most common in young/middle aged adults they usually result in surgery to remove them. Rehab can then begin to restore his lost range/strength.
